Have laymen historically worn the mozzetta in daily activities? If so, where can I buy a solid black one? They look great.

You mean a shoulder cape? They were pretty popular to wear over coats or capes before the 20th century.

To add, you would probably have find a place that still makes cloaks and coats for coachmen. There has to be somebody that does that. In New Orleans perhaps? Otherwise you could look on Etsy and look for somebody that either sells vintage clothing or can make period clothing. I think carriage Coachmen are probably the last of men to wear such an article of clothing.
