Why are many trads obsessed with the Third Secret of Fatima?  It's from a private revelation and not binding to the faith.

Just curious...
Fatima was the real deal. It was a public event that cannot be denied. Even reds admitted it happenend. Fatima is far more then a mere private revalation
Its the real deal! Bottom line. Obsessed isn't the right word. We just want the pope and the church to listin to what the Holy Mother said. Simple really.

That covers it. The third secret was supposed to be read in 1960 "when things would be clearer" and never was and the Church has been lying about it ever since also of course the Consecration of Russia was never done.
Depends on how you look at it, amasimp.

Why are trads so obsessed with the rosary?  It's not binding.

Trads, at least some here obsessively deny the the Luminous Mysteries, just because there are new. Such little details as Scriptural basis, about important events of Jesus life; means nothing for the TraditionalIST: new, ergo bad.

Inn other hand the Rosary is prayer, we give humble honor to th Blessed virgin. The case of the  Fatima secret is demand, and crude attack against the Hierarchical Jurisdictional Church.
Usually, most people are curious about secrets in general. It's just human nature. Traditionalists are curious about the Third Secret for any number of reasons, in my opinion.

1)They believe the Third Secret was not fully revealed in 2000.

2)They believe the Third Secret has to do with the times we are living in, particularly the direction the Church has taken since 1960.

3) The believe once the Third Secret is fully revealed, they'll be vindicated for a variety of reasons, as they were, when the Motu Proprio said no priest needed a bishop's permission to say a TLM and the SSPX excommunications were lifted, both of which, of course, probably had little or nothing to do with the Third Secret.

4) Once the Third Secret is revealed and fulfilled, the promised Era of Peace will follow, and the Church will be straightened out..
