I admire the English Martyrs the most I don't know why, but it is always so moving and sad.
Such an example of courage and fidelity to Christ! We don't see much of that anymore.
I'm mostly of Irish decent  (I'm American), but with a little English tossed in. In a sense, I felt ashamed of the English because of the reformation. But to think of the martyrs makes me proud.  Pray

Well I think that such examples present them selves when the times call for it.

The Cristeros of Mexico being the latest example I believe.

Also in Iraq many of our Eastern brothers are martyred, may not be as poetic but just as brave.
