In fact the Society of St. Pius says there are two parties in Rome: "One always has to ask, who will have the last word" -- explained the Society's Head in an Exclusive interview.

[kreuz.net] Today Bishop Bernard Fellay -- the General Superior of the Priestly Society of St. Piux X -- on the occasion of the Fortieth Anniversary Jubilee of his Society.

He did this in the context of an exclusive interview with French Pius-Portal 'La Porte Latine'.

The Society of Pius X was recognized in 1970, November 1, by the then Bishop of Freiburg in Switzerland, Msgr Francois Charriere (+1976).

To those who hate the Society's work, I only have this to say:

"If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you." ~ John 15:18
Truth is always hated.

Non-SSPX Catholics are not, as such, “the world.” But if you meant the media, modern cultural man, eetc., then yyes, yoou are right.
It's interesting how the Neo-cons don't want to get this Bishop.  I can respect people who are afraid that the good Bishop is going to give away the store to Rome, they don't have the record of rank denial and dishonesty of the Neo-con.

Archbishop Lefebvre, ora pro nobis.

Have you seen the attitude of most Catholics towards the SSPX over at Catholic Answers Forum? Sure, they may not be representative of all Vatican II-loving Catholics, but it does say something.

There is nothing greater a man can do than suffer ignominous scorn and blows like the kind Bishop Williamson is receiving for His glory.

Once again, a neo-con over on FR claimed to know that Bishop Williamson was mentally ill.  Wow, that's all I can say.  Not even his Oxbridge and brilliant manner and articulation can save him from those attacks.
There is plenty of people that hate the society because they do not know any better.

I my self can be counted as one that used to belong in those ranks. When I decided that the NO was simply not fulfilling my hunger as Christian and decided to follow the TLM one of the most frustrating things for me was the SSPX I held them in contempt for having separated them selves from the one true Church and the Chair of Peter, I saw as worst than sedes or protestants. Why? Because these are people that in my mind, should "know" better. Also another contributing factor was the odd and conflicting way in which I viewed JP II.

I have since then, soften my stance on the subject, I still believe however that the Society needs to be regularized within the Church in order to fulfill its mission. Yet hate is no longer the way that I would describe my feelings toward it, but rather hopeful.

Yet without Archbishop Lefebvre and the Society, the TLM would probably have died in non-sede circles.  We all owe the late Archbishop and the Society a great debt.  Basically, it is Rome that needs to be "regularized," not the SSPX.  The SSPX operates EXACTLY how the Church of pre-conciliar days did, holding to full orthodoxy.  The post-conciliar Church has fallen into ambiguity and outright error (this is concerning the very fallible human element).  The SSPX can never be "regularized" in this environment - not until Rome and the entire Church returns to complete orthodoxy, which will without a doubt cause a major public schism (I say public because in truth the schism has already occurred).  This needs to happen for the good of all souls and the end of this age of confusion - the weeds must be separated from the wheat, the false Church from the true Church.

Whose truth, and by whom?

God is the TRUTH, and good people love God, many people are neutral, some hate Him.

The institutional jurisdictional hierarchical Church is the God appointed depository of the Truth, Catholics love or at least accept the Church, but the Church has many enemies who hate her.

The truth of someone is to be accepted or rejected not to be loved or hated.
