The Bishop Emeritus of Corpus Christi has some interesting thoughts on the Corapi situation...

His Take on Corapi:  http://abyssum.wordpress.com/2011/06/18/...yesterday/

AND SOLT's Monday announcement:  http://soltnews.blogspot.com/2011/06/off...of-fr.html
If we had a couple hundred Bishops like His Excellency, things would be significantly in our favor.
Interesting so Father Corapi is not bound to a bow of poverty well that takes care of that ridiculous argument that some were making.
Some very interesting remarks especially these:
"I believe that he is justified in not seeking to clear his name through a canonical process; at the present time such processes are very flawed in most dioceses.  Rather I would like to believe that he intends to try to clear his name through the civil courts.  Since I believe that his accuser is a former manager of his media company who he terminated with some kind termination agreement, and since she has evidently sought revenge for her termination by writing to the Bishop of Corpus Christi denouncing Father John, I believe that it is possible for him to do so and I wish him every success in such an endeavor.  The basis for his lawsuit would probably be defamation of character, libel, extortion, breech of contract, or whatever."

Yet there seems no indication in Father Corapi's remarks that he is planning to file suit in civil courts.

It's not like this hasn't happened before.  We should be used to reasonably orthodox priests being singled out with false or real accusations who have their careers and lives wrecked by modernist Bishops when like cases are dealt with special pleading, that is to say, double standards.

I think Matt Abbott's speculation over on Angelqueen to be completely uncharacteristic of him and irresponsible.

Where is Gerard anyway?
Augs - Gerard's dad just passed away, see the thread in Oratory
That's too bad, because Gerard would help a lot.  He at least understands the big picture.
Bishop Gracida has long been a solid orthodox and strong pro-lifer so his standing up for Corapi is good for Father John .

Well, it's too bad primarily because his father is deceased.
