The people mad at him should no doubt leave. The church has no room for Gay lovers
Umm...actually this is good news.
Here's the article:

Quote:The former pastor of a Jersey City Catholic church has caused a stir in his new parish with an anti-gay sermon, the Record of Bergen County reported in today's editions.

When the Rev. Joseph Astarita told the congregation at St. Joseph's in East Rutherford on July 10 that "Marriage between two men is a lie," long-time music minister Robert Russell, who is gay, decided to leave his post in the church, the Record reported.

Astarita was the pastor at St. Aedan's in Jersey City and left earlier this year when the church was taken over by St. Peter's College. He took over at the East Rutherford church in July.

The Record reported that parishioners considered the church to be liberal, but Astarita is "ultra-conservative."

Rusell, who has been a music minister at the church for 22 years, gave two weeks notice, the Record reported. Another long-time parishioner told the Record she is considering leaving the St. Joseph's parish, too, over Astarita's July 10 sermon.

"He's losing parishioners," the Record reported Pam Lakefield as saying.

The sermon should not have come as a total shock to parishioners since the Catholic church does not condone homosexuality.

A couple thoughts:

"The Record reported that parishioners considered the church to be liberal, but Astarita is "ultra-conservative."

-Really?  Cafetiria Catholicism at its best.  Go find yourself a good liberal catholic church that will only tell you what you want to hear.  Somebody needs to tell these people about Luther and how he opened the door to having a personal interpretation of what it means to be a servant of Christ.  Cuz this sure as sh-- isn't Catholic.

"The sermon should not have come as a total shock to parishioners since the Catholic church does not condone homosexuality"

-No sh--?  Look, we've got to stop using the word gay and start using the word sodomite.  I mean, that's what the sodomy comittee has done to the word gay (which doesn't mean same sex attraction.  We all know it means sodomy but they'll tell you it means love).  So lets all start using that word so it's really clear what we don't like.  SAH-DOH-MEE.  Drill it into their heads.  SAH-DOH-MEE. Cuz that's the sin, folks.  Good on this priest for having some balls.
Like Gerard has said ,many times before, the Conciliar Church and their Liberal, Modernist Bishops will weed out the good Orthodox priests!!

Sad Really!!!!

God will straighten things out when he wants to!!!!

Get a clue, you dumb broad.  Losing parishioners?

John ch 6 v 67 Wrote:After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with him.

Matthew ch 11 v 15 Wrote:He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Yeah.  When you put a Catholic priest in a Catholic church, all of a sudden all the non-Catholics run away.

Sounds like a miracle.
Good on Father! The more unrepentant sodomites who leave the Church so the can continue to wallow in their filth the better! That said, we should still pray that overcome their sin and return.
