I've noticed from the beginning that Pope Benedict does not use that traditional Roman gesture which JPII and other popes used.  That is with the palms facing up and making an embracing gesture.  I think there is an Italian name for it?  I always liked that gesture and I wonder why he doesn't do it?
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Do you mean this gesture?  http://www.newsmania.com/pope%E2%80%99s-...tube-1160/  I can't link directly to the image because of the copyright, but the image in that article seems to be what you're describing.  As for why (or if ) he doesn't use it, I really don't know. Smile
