841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."
It's obviously scandalous.

Muslims, as such, are not and cannot be included in the plan of salvation.
The statement is problematic to say the least. The "plan of salvation" needs clarifying. Also the statement "together with us" and the word "adore". The statement should be trashed. It is flirting with disaster to try to reach out to a group that doesn't want to hear it. It is also steeped in the appearance of indifference. Delete!
Yeah, I would prefer an answer in the poll that says "Interpreted in the light of tradition" meaning its contrary to tradition and should be discarded. That's the real answer.
Bah.  It's a ludicrous statement.  We don't adore the same God as the Mohammedans.  Epic fail.
The poor dears think they worship the one God: one Person. If they are invincibly ignorant of the truth about God and yet follow His promptings to fulfill the four cardinal virtues, they can be made perfectly happy at the end of life. This makes sense, because God will not condemn the pagan who has no access to the truth. Today, however, the excuse "I didn't know" is becoming less satisfactory, due to the prolific explosion of literacy, books, and the internet. In a few years there may no longer be such thing as invincible ignorance, outside of tribal settings.

Let us pray all the saints to go prostrate before the Lord, that He might turn the Muslims from their ignorance to the glory of God, ever living and true.
It is orthodox If  "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims;" means that God's plan of salvation includes the conversion of Muslims to the true faith, and  "these profess to hold the faith of Abraham," just means they claim to and  "and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day." does not mean that their adoration is pleasing to God.
I think it should carry this amendment:

An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

That's a lot of mental gymnastics in order to make something that is so obviously contrary to the Truth compatible with Catholicism.
extremely problematic.

They don't even acknowledge the ever blessed and Holy Trinity!

And why is there the phrase "in the first place"?
