REQUIESCANT IN PACE
We regret to announce the death of a long-time priestly friend of the SSPX, Fr. Timothy Hopkins, who passed away during the evening of November 2, the result of an accidental gunshot wound.

The 62-year old Fr. Hopkins was from Great Britain and had pastoral care of the National Shrine of St. Philomena in Miami, Florida for many years, where only the traditional Roman Mass was offered.

The funeral rites for Fr. Hopkins will be held on Monday, November 8th in Miami, where he will be buried.

Please pray for the repose of this priestly soul, particularly during the remaining days of the "octave" dedicated to the Holy Souls.

News of the death of Fr. Timothy, age 56, in an accident at home, has been a terrible shock to all who knew and loved this kindhearted and tireless Catholic priest. He was ordained a priest by His Grace, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and was a long-time friend of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X. As a staunch defender of Christian Civilization and devoted shepherd of souls, Fr. Hopkins founded the National Shrine of Saint Philomena at 1621 SW 6 Street, Miami, FL 33135. The Shrine offers the Catholic faithful the Traditional Latin Mass and sacramental rites. All who were touched by his piety, intellect, faith, and pastoral solicitude mourn him. He will be sorely missed.

The public viewing is from 3 PM to 7 PM, Sunday, November 6th, 2011 at the Shrine of Saint Philomena. The Requiem Mass is on Monday, November 7th, 2011 at 10 AM. Christian Burial will be immediately after the Requiem Mass at Little Havana’s Woodlawn Park Cemetery, 3260 SW 8 Street, Miami.

Resquiat in Pacem Fr. Timothy Alban Hopkins.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may Your perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Are there any reports of a police investigation into this?  It sounds like suicide or murder.  Regardless, I will pray for his soul.
