I was flipping through my Sirius radio and came across the Catholic Channel while driving... dont usually listen to them, but there was a show on around 3pm that was praying the Rosary, so I thought it would be good to pray along with them while I drove.... they did a "scriptural" rosary, saying a line of scripture between each Ave...  anyone do this?  I have never heard of one of these.... does anyone say one of these as a routine practice?  I'm not sure if it would help or hinder meditation/reflection...
I got stuck saying this at church once.  I find it horrible for meditation.  How can you concentrate when there is a different scripture verse being thrown out every ave?  You can't!  It defeats the purpose of mental prayer.
Once while praying the rosary in a chapel after hours a woman came in and after a little "stop and chat" she handed me a book that uses this method. I don't use it often but sometimes when I have trouble meditating I will pull it out and use it. What I do like is how the verses used are from all throughout holy scripture so they can help show how the mystery of our Lady is manifest all throughout the Bible. Sometimes while using this method one of the verses pops out at me and gives me something to meditate on. When that happens I stop saying the Hail Mary's and try to meditate on the passage and it's reference to whatever mystery I'm on.  Again, I don't use it often but it has helped at times.
find the scriptural rosery a very good Meditation. but not for everyday use.

This, and I discovered it years before becoming a Catholic.  Here's a good form from the 'Age of Mary' website, Compiled by Dom Columba Marmion, OSB, Lord Abbot of Maredsous.

You got stuck? What........did you have places to go...people to see? Be still young man...God wanted you there.
I don't find it difficult to meditate on Scriptural Rosaries.  I like using the bead-by-bead meditations on the Confraternity's site sometimes too:

I like scriptural rosary as well, I think it's actually easier to keep my mind on the mysteries.

I have found this to be the case too, Spooky.
I like it sometimes ... but it does get in the way of longer periods of mental prayer during the rosary.  I could use it occasionally, but I recently used it with my wife who said, "I couldn't meditate on anything."

I think a longer passage read entirely before each decade may work better.
