I just heard from my friend who works in the Archdiocesan offices that we have a new Archbishop, Bishop William Lori from Bridgeport, CT.  Thoughts?

Pope names 16th archbishop of Baltimore
(AP) – 1 hour ago
BALTIMORE (AP) — Bishop William E. Lori of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Conn., has been named the 16th Archbishop of Baltimore.
Pope Benedict XVI made the announcement Tuesday.
Lori will succeed Cardinal Edwin O'Brien, who served as Baltimore's 15th archbishop from October 2007 to August 2011 when he was named grand master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
I just read the article, thinking "so far, so good." I pray his excellence is favorably disposed to the traditional Mass!
He's also Supreme Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus.
Seems promising...  Let's all remember to pray for him.
Excellent pick.
My old Bishop. A Company Man, he's solid in defending the Church and an able administrator, but didn't show any sort of friendliness to the traditional Mass, at least not intentionally.
As damooster said, he's head of some chapter of KoC or something.

I like this guy.  He skipped a benefit honoring Ted Kennedy: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/b...n_kennedy/

Google the man and the news reports on him are very favorable.  Here's a lesbian's blog calling him a bigot.  He must be doing some things right: http://lezgetreal.com/2011/10/rainbow-sa...omophobia/
I have read correspondences between Bishop Lori and Father Peter Scott SSPX.

Apparently Bishop Lori is against the Society, but this describes most bishops.

I am going to have disagree with that. I remember 2007 pretty well and he was very enthusiastic about the SP and promoted the printing of the SP to be distributed among all Churches in his diocese. That to me seems like doing something.

Sadly, yes.
