Bishop Aquila is the bishop for my diocese (Fargo).  He;s been appointed the Archbishop of Denver.  >sad >sad >sad  I hate to see him go.

So.... what are the odds that we get Bishop Fellay or Bishop Williamson?  (I can always hope.)
Forgive me Joamy but the thirteen year old in me just had to do it.

I'm sorry we're stealing him from you.  Can you tell me anything about our new shepherd?

He's a pretty good solid bishop.  Doesn't put up with much nonsense.

Tim - if you posted youtube, I'll have to wait until I get home to view... .  Smile
Joamy, I posted an oldie from Dusty Springfield wishin', and hopin'.

Archbishop designate Aquila is a strong bishop.  Very pro-life (see http://www.fargodiocese.org/respectlife/index.htm)  He seems to be Marian,
He did confer the sacrament of confirmation in the old rite not long ago and I believe they have the TLM at the Cathedral on Sunday afternoons.

Not dissimilar to Archbishop Chaput.  He helped to put together the two seminaries in Denver which are churning out faithful good priests.
He is very Marian. ( The best priests I know are "mama's boys.")  Just a really good solid Bishop.

I'm glad to hear it.  Hopefully, he'll continue to support the TLM in our archdiocese.
Pilgrim, I am pretty sure he will.  Smile  He has been good about it here - not expecting it to change.
Yeah he had been rumored to move a bigger diocese for some time and it was the thought he was going to be the next Seattle Bishop however the modernist Bishop of Seattle blocked his appointment and it was rumored that he was in waiting for a good seat. I think Denver suits him just fine, I was holding my breath for San Francisco (they really need good episcopal spine there) but still Denver has been the spring board of many a good Bishops lately.

Aquila is definitely a steal excellent appointment.
