Only problem I have with the Op is equating the orthodox to the catholic east.

I only intended equating them in terms of spiritual tradition; I thought that was fairly uncontroversial.

Why, do Eastern Catholics have an indigenous devotion to St. Joseph, which the Orthodox do not?

Because we are one church....we are not divergent...the schismatics will reject anything that leans west.
