Maybe you were missing the context.  Grandpa

Possibly, or maybe someone was missing their logic.

"Logic" is in unfortunately short supply, oftentimes.  Bonfire

Ah, excuse me, I was dealing with what SouthPaw said, which was  indeed a cartoon version.

Maybe, Maybe not, I haven't found it to be far from the truth.

Ooooookay.  I'll grant that she said essentially what you paraphrased, but SP was advancing something I haven't ever seen in these parts.

I can't say I agree, I'm sure if I could be bothered I could find some such foolishness, unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately depending on your point of view) I can't be bothered.
I propose that one of you let the other have the last word, as an act of charity, humility, and self-restraint.

As Paul VI said, the Council didn't promulgate any new doctrine.  Therefore, it can't be engaged in the development of dogma.

Indeed, and yet all the modern popes and hierarchy treat it as a touchstone of orthodoxy and dogma, curious no?

I can't see the point of continuing this discussion. You know the view of the SSPX and you know where to find out more about it. If you choose to believe in some parody of the SSPX's beliefs or some parody of reality that is your issue.
