Army Reserve training material lists Catholics, evangelical Christians and some Jews in 'religious extremism' category along with the KKK, Hamas and Al Qaeda

A slideshow presentation shown to US Army Reserve recruits classifies Christians, including both evangelicals and Roman Catholics, as religious extremists, placing them in the same category as skinheads, the Ku Klux Klan, Hamas and Al Qaeda.
The presentation also warned that members of the military are prohibited from taking leadership roles in any organization the Pentagon considers 'extremist,' and from distributing the organization's literature, whether on or off a military installation.
The opening slide warns that 'the rise in hate crimes and extremism outside the military may be an indication of internal issues all [armed] services will have to face.'
Citing a Southern Poverty Law Center report as evidence that extremism is on the rise, the Army Reserve presentation blames 'the superheated fears generated by economic dislocation, a proliferation of demonizing conspiracy theories, the changing racial make-up of America and the prospect of 4 more years under a black president who many on the far right view as an enemy to their country.'

This is true.  My friend's son went through Marine boot camp and was told that pro-lifers are "terrorists".

And there is some article out now saying that devout religious children are mental cases.

Riiiight.....if you do not support promiscuous or perverted sex and the killing of the unborn, you are just not 'normal' in this amoral society.

Who wants to be normal anyway?
"extremism on the rise"  How come no one ever asks why is extremism on the rise?  Or what exactly is extremism?  If the state decides to extend it's mighty hand into places it has never been before, that isn't extremism apparently.
maybe this is why the Dept. of Homeland Security needed to order so much ammunition and armored vehicles.  They might need to control all us Extremists, and enemies of the State. Police state, anyone?
I think they are just acknowledging that there are indeed extremists among the groups listed.

I've seen some fairly psycho posts on CI. Then you have the abortion clinics that have been subject to violence.

We are very far from being a police state.

The document, a power point presentation referred to Catholicism  That doesn't seem to be qualifying the 'extremists' at all...
So, how does this fit in with army Chaplins?  That is a position of "leadership" in the Church.

Anyhoo, if they come to round us up one day, I'm a fan of donning medieval armor and charging them on horseback.  Blaze of glory and whatnot.
The immoral perverts and abortion killers of the world hate Jesus, his Catholic Church and his followers.

Friend, in all charity, if you think the US of A is far from being a police state, you have not been paying attention.
DHS, Bush's Patriot Act, Obama's weapons grab, Drones everywhere, et. cetera. We are closer to a govt. Security state than we have been since the Civil War (war of northern aggression).

And the Saul Alinskys of this land would love it. No troublesome Constitution to get in the way of their agenda. No nasty Christians pointing out sin and immorality. No fascist conservatives preaching personal responsibility. And the MSM would walk hand in hand with these people right up to the gulag gate before they realized they were going down too.

Southern Aggression and Racism.

I like how people still call it Northern Aggression when it was Southern soldiers who opened fire on a man-made fortress that was literally anchored away from the coast.

Oh, and the blood of Andersonville is still on the hands of every Southerner.  If they didn't start the war, that tragedy wouldn't have occurred.
