I recently purchased this rosary.  http://churchmilitant.com/church-militan...at-rosary/ it is a reproduction of the rosaries commissioned and distributed by the U.S government to soldiers during World Wars 1 and 2. It is a beautiful and well made rosary and I recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy rosary.   I hope this doesn't break! I've had  incredible back luck with rosaries breaking. I've been through hundreds of rosaries since my conversion over 10 years ago.

Beautiful, thank you. Do you happen to know what their telephone number is? I have a question regarding their Rosary. Thanks.
Unfortunately I can't find a telephone number for them but you can contact them through email on their website if you like http://churchmilitant.com/contact/
I can vouch for the rosary, it doesn't look or feel cheap, though it's a little more heavy than most rosaries I've had and it's somewhat larger. It also comes in a nice black pouch.
I got a (much) different version of a combat Rosary from a site that is now unusable (except to see a message), because the man making the Rosaries is now in Afghanistan.  For future reference http://www.combatrosary.com/

Actually an apparently equivalent Rosary is made by others; just try images.google

The rosary is made of parachute cord,  with (I think) plastic beads and cross (I don't have it with me now).  Obviously it is much simpler and not so beautiful, but it is sturdy and down to earth and something you can see being made by a soldier and used in the trenches (or the equivalent for other armed forces).

I'm thinking about getting the one discussed in the OP too as it is certainly beautiful.

Chunks of my site are at that site, with no attribution and no link-backs and no permission.
This would be such a great gift for Confirmation!  Smile I want one, even though I just bought myself a new rosary a couple of months ago. . Sticking tongue out at you

PS Here's what looks to be the same rosary on ebay, with information about bead sizes, length, etc. : http://www.ebay.com/itm/CATHOLIC-MILITARY-COMBAT-ROSARY-PARDON-CRUCIFIX-MIRACULOUS-ST-BENEDICT-MEDAL-4H-/360795051394?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item54010f9582

Actually the apparently equivalent Rosary is the Ranger Rosary which is the original, and it originated 10 miles from where i live at St. Mary's in annapolis ,md .http://www.rangerrosary.com/  a number of parishes in my area have Rosary groups making them to GIVE to troops headed overseas , over a millon have been and  made given away to troops
I just ordered some for Christmas gifts. They're gorgeous and very manly, which I think would be especially appealing to young men.
Thanks.

I assume you mean the site I mentioned,  http://www.combatrosary.com?  (Or did you mean the one mentioned earlier http://churchmilitant.com/church-militan...at-rosary/ ?

I was just curious since I couldn't even login to combatrosary.com...
