I'm looking to put a nice Catholic-friendly edition of the Septuagint on my Christmas list. Any suggestions?
If you're talking about the Greek text, the Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft's edition is gorgeous, but very expensive. I can't comment on any English translation, though.
It depends on what you need it for, but the Brenton that CatholicSteve21 links to is your best bet. The critical edition by Rahlfs is better for serious work, but it is expensive. The Brenton is more than sufficient for reading, Greek practice, reference-checking, etc.
