This is a video of the Franciscans of the Immaculate Seminary the day it was shuttered by Commissioner Volpi
On December 8, 2013, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the  the Theological Seminary of the Immaculate Mediatrix (STIM) of the Franciscans of the Immaculate (FI) was closed by their Apostolic Commissioner, Fr. Fidenzio Volpi. On the same day, one of the friars filmed the entire day, which presents the way of life in that same seminary. Thank you to Rorate Caeli for posting this on their blog - please pass this bittersweet video on, and please pray for the FI~

Nice Video.. :D (y)
It is more than a nice video.  It is a view of holiness in consecrated life that is not much tolerated --well, even hated, by modernists.  Hated by the enemy of souls, too, for that matter.  But the true charism is still being held in the hearts of some of these holy men.  They await the day when it can be lived again.

One can be a modernist, even lesbian, 'religious sister' and continue on with impunity. A liberated 'nun' can teach heterodoxy to children and not ever be reprimanded while destroying the faith of the young. One can be a bishop with a boyfriend who destroys the faith in his diocese with impunity. One can be a priest with extreme liturgical abuses and continue with impunity.  One can be a cardinal and promote the 'gift' of sodomy or communion to invalidly married and all that with impunity and the big horn of the media.  But true and holy, prayerful and --worse yet--penitential religious life:  well, that must be crushed.  Yet one can run a 'catholic' social service that pays for intrinsic evils and nothing is done.  One can claim a national stage and lead parades while clamping down on traditional  faithful and nothing is done.  It goes on and on.

It is a time of trial, testing, and suffering.  As St. Paul wrote to St. Timothy:  we must hold fast to our Tradition.  We will need this for our renewal in times to come.

Yea  Thanks a Lot Francis  >:( from  protecting the Church from this horrible Seminary.  We cant have these horrible peoples ideas infiltrating  "your" church now can we?
I could not watch it. I just started crying.

Yes. And as St. Paul also says somewhere,

Quote:For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.

Its sad, but these folks who can't stand sound doctrine now have the pope for their teachers (think of all those folks who demand change and can't stand the truth but are getting private meetings with the pope).

From the video these friars look like those old orders we hear about that would shake the Church and (truly) renew Her.
The only consolation, really, is that many saints were also persecuted by the Church also.

"Bittersweet" is the word. Magdalene summed it all up. It's all just sickening.
Pope Francis should be ashamed of himself for what he did to these men, why didn't he go  after his Jesuit colleges who promote sodomy and other sins.

Maybe I've become cynical with respect to Rome, but I can't help but thinking that a major reason Rome cracks down on traditionalists or conservatives is, sadly, that they are more likely to obey. Liberals are just going to ignore and keep on doing what they do, and Rome loses face if it thunders and is ignored by liberals who will be lionized in the papers. Rome can stroke its ego by cracking down on people who will obey its often arbitrary demands. Couple this with no shortage of high churchmen with a pathological hatred for Catholic tradition, and, well, you have the modern Catholic Church.

Actually in this case  this is not a true  statement since its pretty obvious that those in power in Rome are Modernists.  That is why they dont enforce  the dismal behavior going on everywhere in the Church these days. And that is why they are  threatened by  Catholics unaffected  by modernist  heresey. So why  would a rebellious leadership  really be concerned with all that is going on everywhere in society and in the Church since they  more or less dont follow the  actual teaching of the Church handed down to us over the last 2000 years.  They loose face when they are challenged and so they destroy  what is good and support what is evil, or at the very  least  dont actualliy  resist  what is evil in the church..
