Pontifical High Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass.

A Pontifical High Mass is a Mass celebrated in the Traditional Latin Mass (Tridentine Mass) with a Bishop present. We would like you to come and take part in this almost once in a lifetime event. There has not been a Pontifical High Mass celebrated anywhere in Southern California since the Second Vatican Council was evoked.

With that being said, a Pontifical High Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be celebrated  in honor of the 130th Anniversary of Ordination of Father August Tolton in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Costa Mesa. The Mass will commemorate the 130th anniversary of the ordination of Father Augustus Tolton. In 1886, Father Tolton became the first Afro-American Slave to be ordained a Catholic priest. He died at the age of 43 in the odor of sanctity.

On April 25th there will be a Pontifical High Mass in the Extraordinary Form featuring some works of Jose Nunez Garcia. The Pontifical High Mass will be offered by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Perry, J.C.L from the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Mass will be offered at 7P.M in St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in Costa Mesa, Ca.

The location of this event is:
1015 Baker Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Please don’t miss this event. This is an almost one in a lifetime opportunity. There has not been a Pontifical High Mass in the Extraordinary Form celebrated in Orange County since the Second Vatican Council was evoked.
