Yes puts that Malachi Martin video about Lucifer in the Vatican posted by Zedta the other day into perspective. Martin was a bit of a sensationalist, but maybe he needed to be.

God save us all, it's really difficult to be a Catholic these days, not necessarily because of persecution / discrimination, but just because it's all so confusing!

priests, cardinals and popes will end up in hell ¡if they confirm people in their sins and do not shepherd the flock away from the road which leads to hell. Paul was clear:  "Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you WERE. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." -1 Cor. 6:9-11

The actual Greek word used was catamites. They were young boy prostitutes. It's often mistranslated as "homosexuals".
I believe catamites were simply adolescents who took on the passive role in a homosexual relationship with an older man. I don't think they were prostitutes, at least not necessarily.

In any case, I think Church practice in regard to homosexuality will change significantly in the next couple of decades. After all, even "conservative" prelates like Dolan congratulate people for coming out of the closet, and the more liberal ones, as we see here, are pretty clear in suggesting that the Church must, at the very least, support civil unions for homosexuals. In fact, even most trads seem to be softening their stance, going on constantly about the herculean strength and saintliness of homosexuals, both chaste and otherwise.

One might say that there is some precedent for this change in the way in which the Church abandoned her teaching on usury, which in the ancient and medieval world was recognized as being closely related to sodomy.
