Full Version: Pope Francis on welcoming migrants and refugees with both generosity & prudence

I'm posting this because it gives some clarification with regard to Pope Francis' position on this matter. He and I agree on proper vetting. Smile

From Aleteia:

"VATICAN CITY — Over the past year, Pope Francis has many times shared his thoughts on the plight of refugees both in formal addresses as well as informal interviews.

Welcoming refugees is a Christian duty, the pope has said repeatedly. Yet public authorities must exercise the virtue of prudence in order to to ensure that those who are welcomed intend “to respect the laws, culture and traditions of the countries in which they are received,” without the latter sensing that “their security, cultural identity and political-social stability are threatened.

“Hearts must not be closed to refugees, but those who govern need prudence.”"

The problem with all of this is, why in the blue grass mountains is it the responsibility of far away Europe and America to take in Muslim refugees/aka actually not refugees.

There should not be one "refugee" in Europe or America before all of those other nearby Muslim countries have overflowed with them, which they are certainly are not.

Those countries share similar cultures and religion to those who are leaving Syria and elsewhere. Not to mention they are right by them in proximity!

So, the whole premise makes no sense.

No, what we have going here, is a deliberate ploy to overrun and destroy Europe through taking in Muslims, at the behest of a certain Tribe.

Francis can say whatever he wants to disarm those who know better, but he is fooling no one that those people are going to respect the "laws, traditions, and culture" of the countries that are receiving them.  We have demonstrable evidence to prove this.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. You're right, many of them are not actually refugees, but terrorist plants.

What is really unsettling is the fact that Saudi Arabia has a location full of air conditioned tents that can house many, many refugees, and they won't take them in. The tents are almost always empty.

Exactly.  But whether they be actual terrorists are not, they are largely going to be inimical to Western society.

And another thing, are none of these people planning on ever returning to their homelands ( or rather the people who orchestrated them away from their homelands)?

Are they just abandoning them forever?

If they just went to Saudi Arabia, it would be relatively easy to move back and resettle once the turmoil was over.  But for millions and millions to fly back from Europe and America..?

Not going to happen.  And I think that is the point.
I don't think Saudi wants them.  Saudi Arabia is one of the most oppressive, hardliner Wahabbi Muslim nations in the world, they would love if Europe became Eurabia. Most Muslim nations would also love if Europe became Islamic.  Remember outside certain liberal Muslim circles Islam does not see any separation between religion and secular life.  Islamic thinkers that aren't tainted by modern western attitudes want to see Islam reign from sea to shining sea.  Europe is ripe for it, as it is no longer anything but a confessionally agnostic continent just ready for the witness of Islam.  Heck, even the Roman Catholic Church is aiding the ummah in its conquest by immigration.

There is no unified worldview in Europe today that can compete with Islam.  Maybe secularist agnosticism and unbridled capitalism, but aside from the endless pursuit of pleasure and money those things don't speak to man's spiritual heart the way religion does.

If Europe were still united around ethnic and religious lines Europeans would not allow so many foreigners with a hostile and alien culture to basically come in and take what they want without consequence.

This is why I reject Francis' exhortations in the strongest way possible.

Islam wants to see Europe become Islamic.  It is very open about this.  Francis wants to help Muslims into Europe so badly that he is using his rabidly declining credibility to weigh on naive Catholics' consciences to support this endeavor.

Francis is an enemy to Europe, as he is to Catholicism.
According to many sources, most of the refugees from Syria are fleeing from the Syrian government. In addition to that, more than half of the opposition to President Assad is now made up of Islamists of varying degrees. By applying simple math to the problem, what does that make a significant percentage of the refugees entering Europe ?
The larger issue is that Christians are always getting conned into accepting policies which are contrary to the own interests and even their own survival by unscrupulous leftwing demagogues who take scripture out of context to make us believe that Christianity is just Marxism with Jesus. In the west there are very few Christians who don't assent to some kind of cosmopolitan liberalism because they have been sold the lie that nationalism and militancy are anti-Christian. They will quote Galatians 3:28: "There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus." But in this text Paul is just saying that in the Church we are all one, that salvation is open to all human beings. But you will see this twisted and used against us by suggesting that our religion is demanding us to abandon our national identity and our heritage and traditions and just live together in one big multicultural soup.
No, we are not going to take in more Muslim migrants, Pope Francis. We are going to band together and we are going to fight and expel the invaders from the lands of our forefathers. The ghosts of our predecessors will be marching with us and urging us on: Pelagius of Asturias, Charles Martel, Jeanne d'Arc, Charlemagne, Constantine the Great. We're going to search through every single city block, farm and suburb of Western Europe and we're going to pluck the Muslims out of their holes and we're going to put them on cattle trains to Mongolia. Then we're going to invade their lands. We're going to take their cities. Convert their people. We are going to take back what was ours. We are going to knock down those bloody minarets and plant the flag of Christ the King on top of the Basilica of the Holy Wisdom in Constantinople.  We're not going to lie down and humble brag about how many black feet we kissed this week. We will restore Christendom in Europe and we will build a civilization.
