Quote:The Labour Party declined to comment on whether Corbyn had received Communion, but did confirm his attendance at the funeral. They also confirmed he was not a Catholic.

One of the most recognisable communists in Britain, most likely a throughgoing atheist. What sort of idiot priest or EMHC would give this gobshite Communion?

Probably somebody who did not realize that he was not a Catholic.

I seriously doubt that there is a single person in Britain who doesn't know that he's an anti-Christian communist.
Who are we to judge. He might be a Catholic.
Frankly, Catholic means universal whatever political party they may belong.
Hatred spawns ignorance, education leads to guidance.

Just saying, peace

Even the official statement from the Labour Party confirmed that he is NOT a Catholic.

They may simply not have recognised him.
Also, this was at a funeral. Did the priest announce that only Catholics who are in a state of grace and have fasted are eligible to receive Communion?

I would be very surprised if there is a single person in Britain with the intelligence to find their way to the Church for the funeral that wouldn't recognise him. A day doesn't go by that his picture is not in the papers and all over TV. It's not like he's some obscure politician. He's the Leader of the Opposition, who came within a hairsbreadth of being Prime Minister just a few months ago.

I realise that I forgot to post the link to The Catholic Herald article, which can be read here.

It contains this paragraph:

Quote:Clare Bowskill of the Latin Mass Society told the Telegraph: “Most Catholics would think that was disrespecting the faith quite considerably. Even Anglicans are normally told at Mass that they are welcome to come up for a blessing but they do not take Communion.
