A famous song in my neck of the woods...

A huge state of the art all electric lumber mill opened in Vernonia in 1923. Then in 1961 for some unknown reason they decided to burn it down for the filming of some lame juvenile delinquent movie named 'Ring of Fire'. 

All that remains is the old powerhouse (where they made the electricity, (no hydroelectricity 'till the 1930s) 



Everyone in Vernonia knows it by heart.
