Bishop Salazar from the Archdiocese of L.A. resigned.  He had been previously investigated by the Church and law enforcement over allegations, but he hadn't been formally charged.  Nevertheless, in 2005 "precautionary measures" were taken against him by the CDF.

Bye, Felicia.
And another one gone and another one gone, another one bites the dust!  :(
It is heartening to see that these Bishops are leaving, though not as heartening as it would have been to see them leave of their own volition. Let us make no mistake, these are men who are leaving because they know that they have done grave evil and, far from a penitential act of resignation, they do not wish to court controversy by remaining in the spot light. This is as self-serving a resignation as the Bishop of Rome is self-serving by his vow to not say one word about allegations made against him. After all, who can touch the Bishop of Rome, the Supreme Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ and the King of a sovereign state? Let him realize, Oh God, that You are the judge, and the King of Kings, and the One for whom he stands in as Vicar. Let him realize, and let him tremble at the thought. Then, let him act accordingly.
