According to Estadão, the current government is taking into consideration the role of the Brazilian Catholic Church as "a traditional ally of the Brazilian Workers' Party (PT)." Allegedly, officers from the Institutional Security Cabinet assessed the latest security reports and concluded that progressive factions of the Church planned on using the synod to criticize the Bolsonaro government at the international level. https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/arti...-the-synod

Yet another instance where I side with a government leader against the Vatican.

Ya know, they are right.  They named one type of heretic in our Church, the Progressives like Pelosi - "progressive factions of the Church." Those in the Church who are of another stripe are those who are Socialists in the PT, and their heresy is Liberation Theology.  Not that the Progressives here aren't very far from being Socialists themselves.  I think it would be a good idea for a few solid men from the Vatican to get behind closed doors and explain to Bolsonaro that they'd like to remove these trouble makers from their midst, give then a good game plan and ask the government for the help they'll need to round them up.  They are heretics.  They destroy.  They do not build for Christ but for themselves and others.  The advantage showing itself to me is at this point is that the government is pretty saavy to the mechinations of these heretics and if we offered to remove them by ecclesial prosecutions, we would need the governments co-operation.  Problem is there seems to be little motivation for the Church to clear out her heretics these days.  Sigh.  A gal can dream.  I hate heresy.  I really do.  God bless.  Ginnyfree.
Wouldn't surprise me.

Will be interesting to see what comes out of this farce, what will be even more interesting though is to see how politically involved Francis and the Vatican get leading up to Trumps re-election in 2020 (Incl. The Tech Giants), can't afford another 2016 to happen again.

I would want to say to Trump that while his popularity may appear good right now with media killing him 24/7, remember in 2016 how they saved the best scandals to right before the vote? and you only find out it's fake or not entirely true until after the election and after damage has been done. In 2016 they underestimated you, they will not make that mistake again, please don't make that mistake either.

God Bless
