Full Version: Church as institution vs. organism

Sometimes, I feel like church behaves more like an institutionalized bureaucracy than an organism. If a priest does something wrong, best not call it out, he stands alter Christi. If the church hierarchy moves one direction, best go with it or have your head chopped off. I frequently lose faith a lot of times because of this. People are not about God being love but they tend to be about defending established hierarchies. I am reminded of that line in Loreena Mckennitt's "Dante's Prayer" where she talks about the priest's of pride who say there is no other way. Honestly, I think that is correct.
