The eruptions continue on La Palma and it is very bad for those who live there. Reports are that scientists fear the eruption could last for months. Here's a good article with video and pictures from the island: https://www.the-sun.com/news/3690729/vol...ists-flee/
As someone remarked on a British fourm

'If a megatsunami hit the East coast and the Big One hit the West coast who is going to eat all those Idaho potatoes?'

No one, you forgot Yellowstone

++++++++++++++

Life on top of a 16,404 ft volcano (5,000 M)

The Atlantic is deep and if La Palma fractured it would make a big thump but as the video shows it's a gentle slope to the sea fortunately

This would reduce the LWW population to give reasonable people a chance to actually elect good people into office.
Curious: "Wormwood' grows on the Canary Islands. Hmmm.

I don't think there's anything in that, Z.

Quote:Artemisia absinthium (wormwood, grand wormwood, absinthe, absinthium, absinthe wormwood,[4] mugwort, wermout, wermud, wormit, wormod[5]) is a moderately poisonous species of Artemisia native to temperate regions of Eurasia[6] and North Africa, and widely naturalized in Canada and the northern United States.[7] It is grown as an ornamental plant and is used as an ingredient in the spirit absinthe and some other alcoholic beverages.

The lava flow is supposedly heading down to the sea quite rapidly and many people have been evacuated and properties destroyed. There is some spectacular footage on TVE.

You should find it here:

An update, uploaded at approx. 18.00 CST.

Thanks for that update. Reports are that this event is just getting started and may last for months. The mentioned gas buildup is also potentially problematic, because it could cause a "Krakatoa" event, especially, if there is a pause in activity, which could indicate that buildup.

Like I said at the opening, it bares watching for everyone along the Atlantic rim.

Agreed, but just a curious coinkydink.
Things seem to have intensified: shock waves and explosions

30 miles off-shore in a boat may not be a bad idea:(
