Mutant Egg - Deidre - 05-28-2007

If I had to guess, I would say that it was fertilized, and sold accidentally...good thing you caught it really early! Balut, anyone? [Image: gimmefood.gif]

Edited for spelling

I think it's either photoshopped, LOL, or it is a triplet yolk.  I've seen double yolks before.

LOL! No, I took the pic and I have no idea how to photoshop. I cooked that thing today! It was actually sitting in with the potatoes and spices that I use for my recipe. When I chop eggs, I slice them like that first and I usually don't see the middle because I don't look--- I just keep chopping. This one fell open and *gasp*! It has cooked white in between the yolk sacs. Triplets?

Btw, this was a tiny egg. Usually, double yolk eggs are huge. We used to get them all the time from a friend who worked delivery for an egg farm. The biggest eggs do not fit well into store-size cartons so we were getting them for free. The double yolk eggs are awesome for egg noodles.
