Commentary on the Song of Songs? - Deidre - 07-01-2009

Hi, everybody,
I'm looking for a good commentary on the Song of Songs- is there one written by a Saint that I could buy? Any recommendations?
Thanks! :)

St Bernard's sermons on the Song of Songs constitute what is probably the most prominent commentary on that book.

I think that there is one published by Tan  written by the distinguished teacher of Fr Garrigou-Lagrange, Fr Arintero O.P. From what I have read it would be excellent and reliable.Alan Robinson

St. Thomas dictated a commentary on the Song of Songs on his deathbed.

Since all the St Thomas's but Aquinas died as Martyrs I would guess him. But I am sure there are even more St T's out there. Perhaps St Mr T "I pity the fool who ain't trad."
