I've been trying to find an image of St. Ann's in Salt Lake City. I'm not having any luck. I guess Google thinks it's too ugly too! (although the orphanage is gorgeous. go fig.)

Probably the star of David to acknowledge the Old Testament and/or Jewish roots of Catholicism.

This is perhaps the UGLIEST Catholic Church in the history of the world, in Vienna Austria

I can't decide if it looks satanic, or like a porn club.

To me it looks like a modern art gallery -- or, in this post Apple Store world, a trendy shop.

It does not look like a Church.

Old Salt, to embed an image, first copy the image link.  We'll say http ://linksite .com/image.

Use the "Insert Image" button on the post reply menu.  It will place these on the page:

[img][/ img]

Put the link between them like this:

[img]  http ://linksite .com/image      [/ img]

I left a space between "[/" and "img]" so that it would show on this post.

To the questions about the meaning of the six-pointed star: In heraldry, a "mullet of six points" is symbolic of devotion to Mary. Of course, the design in question also--inescapably--alludes to the Jewish "Magen David," but I suspect the Marian connotation is meant to be primary here. The Star of David wasn't widely understood to be a Jewish symbol until the 1600s or so, whereas the vocabulary of heraldry was pretty mature by that time.

I finally got it!
Thanks all.

This [above] is the sanctuary of a Church built in the 50's.
"Church of Our Saviour" on Park Avenue Manhattan.

It still can be done.

Here is another Catholic church built in 1954 in Greensboro North Carolina.
Built by one private donation.
