SHOCK: Cardinals will be informed regarding Vatileaks investigation - Clare Brigid - 03-05-2013

Catholic News Agency is reporting that the cardinals will be informed regarding the results of the Vatileaks investigation to assist in their deliberations, although the report itself will not be shared with them:  http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/cardinals-will-be-informed-of-vatileaks-background/

Uh, where is the news?
The pope said that the report remains at the discretion of his successor but the three investigators are free to inform the Cardinals of anything they deem necessary.
Now Cardinal O'Malley said he will not see the report, but he trusts that the three investigators will tell him everything that is necessary for him to know.
So, no news at all.

I would love to hear any scenarios in which this makes a lick of sense.  Thx.

Some here were denying that the information would be shared, despite Fr. Lombardi's broad hints.  Hence, my Drudge headline.

Well Pope Benedict corrected Fr. Lombardi's hints three days later.  I hope Cardinal O’Malley and Cardinal DiNardo's guesses are correct and that the Cardinals voting in the conclave will in fact be informed on the necessary background information related to the Vatileaks scandal.  It only makes sense that they should be.

Well, I trust that the three investigators will tell him that the three-ring-circus  he put on to bury Ted Kennedy was UNnecessary & tacky to boot.

Thank you Impy.

I for one was confused by mixed signals and quotations and I asked Impy if there was some solid source to clarify the issue.

Kind of you, Impy.

They should indeed be informed.

What if they elect a scoundrel and Then find out ?  What a mess that would be.

If they elect a scoundrel, they will very likely never find out.
