Happy St. Patrick's Day! - iona_scribe - 03-17-2013 Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! I can't believe I'm the first person to post it today. :shamrock: ![]() Also, posted over at the Catholic Illustrator's Guild blog: http://www.smallpax.blogspot.com/2013/03/st-patrick.html If you're not already following this blog, FE's own George_T posts his comics there, and Daniel Mitsui (designer of the splendid FE homepage banner and many of the images in the new Laudamus Te missal) also posts new work there. *edited to change "Adoremus hymnal" to "Laudamus Te missal". So terribly sleep deprived! Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - lisetravis - 03-17-2013 Happy St. Patrick's Day to you! That's a lovely photo. :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - Starry Plough - 03-17-2013 Slainte! Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - GeorgeT - 03-17-2013 Made oue Bailey;s cake this morning after Mass. Our stew is stewing and the potato bread dowls are going in the oven right now. Been listening to the Wolfetones, etc. And the kids have been making pictures all day and are now "decorating" the house with them. Our stout is "to the ready", once the work is done. Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - In nomine Patris - 03-17-2013 Indeed, my maternal grandparents immigrated from Ireland, I sure miss them. I remember the corned beef and cabbage. What I wouldnt give for another St Paddy's day with them. Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - McNider - 03-17-2013 Why are we celebrating a Baptist? http://www.carmichaelbaptist.org/Sermons/landis1.htm :O Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - In nomine Patris - 03-17-2013 (03-17-2013, 03:01 PM)McNider Wrote: Why are we celebrating a Baptist? I was embarrassed when I cracked open my missal at Mass to see that it was Passion Sunday which displaces the third class feast of St. Patrick, and hoped I hadn't made some sort of nouveau-trad liturgical gaffe. I can almost envision some kind of meme: "Friends invite out for green beer. Stays home and veils crucifixes." Have a good one! Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day! - Joamy - 03-17-2013 The best irish music in the world... . Your awesome wife introduced me to the Wolfetones a while back on this thread: http://catholicforum.fisheaters.com/index.php/topic,3439364.0.html  This morning I read my daughter "Patrick: Patron Saint of Ireland" by Tomie dePaola, and then the section about the Holy Trinity from the First Communion Baltimore Catechism. We've got corned beef, cabbage, and sweet potatoes simmering on the stove right now, and the baby's godfather is coming over later with some Murphy's. I baked the Irish soda bread last night. |
