Saying goodbye, for now. - FultonFan - 03-31-2021

What’s the best way to say “goodbye, for now”? Is written text the best format? To me, that would be the best way to say it, however, I’m interested to hear alternative opinions, even if your opinions aren’t very good, which I suspect to be the case.

I would prefer that you say it by means of runestone.

Digitized smoke-signals?

Just say, "adieu", and leave it to God.

Two options:

A: If this isn't what JMichael meant, morse code via synchronized lighting of bonfires

B: A gunshot to the head if you know you're both going to the same place

I was always a fan of the Irish goodbye, but i guess that is called ghosting these days. Damn cancel culture, pffffft

Can you clarify option B? Why exactly does it involve shooting someone in the head? I suspect I’m missing a reference of some sort.
Leave it to the whacky world of 2021 to make the word “goodbye” sufficiently offensive grounds to launch into a Wild West, Mexican Stand-off situation.

I suppose it could be a shot to an extremity if you're fairly certain they'll bleed out quickly.  But it loses it's dramatic effect as a "goodbye for now" if they linger in this mortal coil for too long.

Of course, for the faint of heart, another option would be to enact the gunshot through interpretive dance, and then quickly run away.

I'm partial to a couple of bars of "We'll meet again" myself.
