"Peter the Roman" may not refer to his name at all. Time will tell. Pope John XXIII was shepherd and sailor. He came from Venice so we got sailor, and shepherd from him being a Bishop.

Well yes, of course. But I've read various comments on other sites complaining that he seems more interested in that particular role than his more universal role (of course they were making these complaints based on a few words). Maybe that's why it stuck out to me.
