Well, then H1N1 is not a myth.

I have stated on this forum it is nothing but another flu (which, admittedly, can become a problem, see 1918 flu pandemic).

H1N1 is very vague though. Almost all human flus are H1N1 (specifically, Influenza A virus subtype H1N1). The current one called "Swine Flu" is just a new strain of it. New strains come up all the time. "Bird Flu" was another I think.
If you can, discourage her from taking anything to take down the fever.  Fever reducers and antihistamines suppress our God-given immune response and prolongs viral infections like the flu or the common cold.  There is one theory that the reason for the high death rates during the 1918 flu pandemic was due to the introduction of asprin, which brought down fever in the early stage of the illness, allowing the flu virus to take over the lungs by suppressing the immune system.
