Thank you for the post and information Cetil.  It was my recollection that non-Catholics served on this Pontifical Academy in the past, but I didn’t have time to research it.

While in the pre VII era, when the Church was in the counter reformation mode of Trent, there were strict guidelines and prohibitions regarding theological and Para liturgical contact with Protestants and other non-Catholics, in temporal / secular affairs the Church often maintained broad connections and consultations.
