Abp. Dolan: need for Confession, re-institution of Friday abstinence?
#11
Isn't the current law still that one must abstain on Fridays?  Only that the concession is made that another penance can take it's place?

I'm all for it, of course.  I just thought the current code more or less said you must abstain, or at least do a penance worthy of abstinence if you choose not to abstain.

Confession before and after all masses, and every saturday in the morning, afternoon and evening.  That's how to roll.

Go thy ways, old Jack;
die when thou wilt, if manhood, good manhood, be
not forgot upon the face of the earth, then am I a
shotten herring. There live not three good men
unhanged in England; and one of them is fat and
grows old: God help the while! a bad world, I say.
I would I were a weaver; I could sing psalms or any
thing. A plague of all cowards, I say still.
