I just bought some nice beeswax candles and a home incense kit (charcoal and resin). I'm going to take the candles to a priest to have them blessed - can the incense also be blessed? Also, my wife and I purchased some nice fabrics for our altar that correspond with the different liturgical seasons and I'm wondering if the church recommends different blends of incense during different times of the year, but I can't seem to find much information on it.

Regarding the incense, I'm curious to know if any of you have any tips for a first-time user.

Thanks!

Hey Wells,

As a sacristan, here are my preferences:
Frankincense for Feasts of Our Lord, Sundays of Pentecost
Sweet Myrrh for Sundays of Advent and Lent
Lily for Easter, Feasts of Our Lady and St. Joseph.

I purchase all our incense from monasteryicons.com except for Lily which is a special order from Italy.
In general, altar linens are white - no liturgical colors although statues of The Infant of Prague generally have vestments of the appropriate liturgical colors.
