Catholics and Lutherans consider their commonalities.
:Hmm:
Let's see:
Belief in the same Triune God, Similar beliefs about Baptism, belief in the Theotokos, there's more.....
And now with the NO mass, they worship the same.
Catholic priests, in the NO, confect the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ during the Mass validly because of apostolic succession, Lutherans don't believe in the necessity of apostolic succession....so....BZZZT, WRONG AGAIN.

How many Protestants were martyred by Catholics?
NONE. You have to belong, at least by desire, to the Catholic Church to be a martyr.

How many Protestants were martyred by Catholics? Not nearly enough.

Bzzzzt....WRONG.....
There is no reference of the Eucharist being a sacrifice in Lutheran Liturgies, and at the beginning of some Lutheran Liturgies there is a service of corporate confession and absolution, which is clearly not standard Catholic practice. Besides, the Lutheran hymns are much nicer than alot of the NO hymns....
You're right , there is still enough different to make most Catholics think that all is just fine with the NO. However, it does look mighty similar to an Anglican service.
And St Pius of Trent, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the word "sacrifice" is rarely used in the prayers of the NO Mass...and it's not even used with the same meaning as in the TLM.

Martyred in the name of diabolical confusion, you mean?
Oh, that's right, when someone is killed because of their faith it has to be the true faith for them to be a martyr......
"No one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church" ( Ecumenical Council of Florence, Cantate Domino, 4 February 1441: Denz. 714).
"A person who chooses to suffer, even to die, rather than renounce his or her faith or Christian principles. After the example of Christ one does not resist one's persecutors when they use violence out of hatred or malice against Christ, or his Church, or some revealed truth of the Catholic religion. (Etym. Greek martyros, witness, martyr.)" ( Fr. Hardon, Modern Catholic Dictionary, Martyr).

Thousands. Hardly a priest left alive in England when Henry VIII was through with his terror.
I do wish people would get their history right Not only was Henry not a Lutheran, he was granted the title 'Defender of the Faith' by HH Pope Leo X for his defence of the Sacraments against Luther. Henry lived and died a Catholic, albeit a schismatic. Anyone killed under Henry was killed because they were protestant heretics.
Henry VIII wasn't Lutheran....
