They gave Pope Francis four years to ‘make the Church over again.’

"“Many here, knowing that the regime is totalitarian are also simply waiting for it to pass, to end, as they usually do eventually, since only God is absolute. They might seem to support it, by staying silent. But, in fact, many are either afraid or indifferent. All are waiting for it to end, since nobody likes to live in fear,” the source added."
The bolded part sums up the attitude of some of us well.

Yes, but there's only so much that a lay person can do. Bishops actually have power to do something and they stay silent.

And even if Pope Francis continues to stay silent and non-responsive regarding things like the dubia, at least some of the clergy have made their voices heard.(03-02-2017, 12:31 PM)In His Love Wrote: "“Many here, knowing that the regime is totalitarian are also simply waiting for it to pass, to end, as they usually do eventually, since only God is absolute. We're living in strange times where it now seems ok to question almost any teaching of the Church, while at the same time, the authority of the acting Pope in any matter is now beyond question in the minds of many.

Michael Matt keeps opening/closing his show with a comment about how we're in the Apocalypse (Most recently, "This is Michael Matt down in the catacombs enjoying the Apocalypse")... with the way things are, these are strange times indeed. Maybe we are in the Apocalypse, maybe we're in the times preceding them, or maybe this is just a weird bump in the road and we're many centuries away from the Apocalypse, who knows? These things that we're seeing today would have been thought of as being absolutely insane centuries ago. Things have certainly gone bonkers.
