Seamster is correct. seams-mistress/seams-master is the origin.

 While it's fallen out of use, 'seamster' is a perfectly good word for the occupation. Another form of the word is sempster.

If you want off-topic, you should try a (monarchy) forum Jovan and I are on.  There was a thread about "Not-Well Known Holidays," that was locked because it turned into a heated debate on Papal Infallability (and some other things, it was quite the diificult discussion to follow.)!
