You can tell the blackness of their inside by th horrific exterior they present. This is what Dorian Grey was about. Look around you. Look at Newchurch fellowship halls. They are hideous most of the time, or at least so bland that nothing is shown, sort of an emptiness if you will. My final example is the University of Dallas. I here alumni reminiscing and lamenting that schools direction, why? Look at what the outside says, even the "chapel", which is really just a fellowship hall.
I wish I had pics for you but their site does not seem to have a virtual tour. And I'm not spending time looking for that stuff.
While I'm ranting I would like to remind everyone of JPII "The Great's" horrific and symbolic crosier.

Not sure what the artist trying to communicate with the work in the first post. If it were made for nonreligious purposes, it wouldn't be so bad, but it isn't...

The real crucifixion was probably a lot more horrific
than the Pope's crosier and this artwork. .
Maybe that's what the artist is trying to convey?
