New Archbishop for New York

Dolan is a St Louis native. It's odd that the Vatican would a appoint a Midwesterner to lead a diocese in the Northeast (and NY at that). Usually they choose bishops who are native to the region to lead the NY see (Cardinal O' Conner was from Philly, Spellman was from MA, Egan is from Brooklyn etc). I'm not against the idea of a Midwesterner being chosen. I just hope he has what it takes to lead in a "New York style"?
