Goin' fishin', maybe....

Any fishermen on board here?

So I used to fish as a kid at my aunt's summer cabin on the lake and I hauled them in!  Of course, I threw them all back at the end of the day; they were what we called sunfish, and I don't think they were edible.

That was back when dinosaurs walked the earth.  Now I'm thinking of taking up the sport again, after watching some people catch fish after fish off the local docks.

I have a gas BBQ rig and I'm not afraid to use it!

Any fishin' advice out there?  Is there any kind of special all-in-one knife that can gut and scale and such?

Thanks.  :D

Just get a good fillet knife, and learn how to fillet the fish, that way you don't have to scale them.

This is good advice for panfish like perch and crappie.  For larger fish, you can just gut them and cook them skin-on.

One of the things I do want to try is roasting whole fish on the grill.  Sans the guts, that is....
