i don't like violent Shakespeare. i much prefer nice, family orientated plays like Titus Andronicus  :P i think the modern romeo and juliet was wrecked by baz luhrmann's directing and influence. probably due to his "orientation" IMO.
in a feeble attempt to connect this digression to the original topic, in a Catholic community, nicely insulated, the threat and danger of such perversions, rife with modernist permeations, many of which are extremely detrimental to one's Faith, ought to be nicely neutralised.
Imangine being able to switch on the radio and hear no rock music, hippity hip hop (or any other rabbit music for that matter), no inappropriate advertisements or discussions. or to walk into a movie rental store, knowing that there is no adult section, that your kids can wander around and select a nice family film from the selection available without fear of accidentally wandering into a dingy litle room that would make you want to burn your eyes!
i guess dreams are free *sigh*
hey, Knuckles, a friend of mine once told me he was recommended to watch Natural Born Killers by an SSPX priest lol. I think it was recommended as an example of the state of todays world.

I listen to the local rock station to work everyday, and I tell you it all sounds the same, it is all about drugs and sex, not that it wasn't before, but at least they were more creative and subtle about it, rock has become rap, which is crap.  but yes I am tired of Trojan condom commericials on my radio or Levitra and Cialis on the TV.

well I don't have a television anymore, just watch reruns of Star Trek or Stargate online or something like that.

i do play my own tunes, i just listen because occasionally I do need to change it up and hear what is new out there.  I have to be somewhat fashionable, I can't always live in the 70's (though I was born in the 80's)

I have big issues with a lot of modern music, especially when it has repetitive synchopated rhythm. i think it all goes back to a sermon by Fr Cranshaw, SSPX (one of our parish priests), on why modern music is bad. all sorts of effects, from physical efects on the brain, and even coagulation of the bloodstream, to psychological and spiritual effects.
that being said, i do listen to some modern music that manages to escape the criteria of "harmful", instead being merely categorised as "neither beneficial nor detrimental".
but even the classical station has all kinds of wierd horrible stuff. you end up with no option but to listen to your own supply.
