It's all mental gymnastics - perhaps mental masturbation is a better term - to twist things around to allow anyone to do anything. Theologians can write all they want, but God gets to decide, not them. Even if you know you'll be outvoted, you have to do the right thing and vote against it. It's even in the new Catechism: 1759 "An evil action cannot be justified by reference to a good intention" (cf. St. Thomas Aquinas, Dec. praec. 6). The end does not justify the means.

If it weren't for that pesky teaching, we could have ended abortion years ago, by simply pre-emptively killing abortionists.
