On Wednesday, January 6, 2010, the Feast of the Epiphany, the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, a traditional community in the Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph (MO), had four postulants undertake the investiture in the Benedictine Habit. This happened at the Oratory of Old Saint Patrick in Kansas City, MO, during a Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form celebrated by His Excellency Robert W. Finn, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City--Saint Joseph.

Below are photographs of the investiture, which begins with the postulants dressed as Brides of Christ. Congratulations to these new sisters. Their website is here.

Each time I see pics of traditional ordinations and monastic investitures (both men and women) I'm still astounded at how young these priests, nuns and brothers are.  You definitely don't see pics with young men and women like this in the Novus Ordo monastic orders.

Deo Gratias!

In the midst of reading news from all around about the evil forces and the speed which the attacks are happening on the Church, sanctity of life, family, etc.  Here and now, I have a smile on my face, rejoicing!  They are our future!

Wonderful! The sister of the darker complexion is actually from my parish here in Texas! May God bless Holy Mother Church with more of these holy and traditional vocations!

In Corde Regis,
