I would suggest that the quality of the construction be checked first.  If it's not built to last, take it apart and rebuild a replica of the Old Cathedral of St. Vibiana.  

But if it is, it would be an awesome challenge to see how it can be reshaped into a viable, traditional Catholic Cathedral and dedicated to the memory of Card. MacIntyre.

I don't know, but remember that book called "Ugly As SIn?" It deserves an honorable mention, at least. Otherwise, it would make a spectacular bowling alley or possibly a mosque.

I actually like the interior of the cathedral, they made good use of natural light there and with some renovations perhaps a huge central crucifix and maybe elevating the altar it could look awesome, the outside does look like a Borg cube though.

are you kidding?  in america, more people will pay to see monster trucks than will go see art for free.   

we could sell it to a protestant group for a megachurch.

No on the protestant idea, I think the decease of protestantism has enough buildings as it is.
