I think your intuition is a good one and there's deffinitely something to it, it's just that we havne't had rules for such a long time and so many children nowadays grow up without fathers and so forth, hence, it's personal preference over social conformity and seemliness.

I don't understand this indulgence of photographers at special events.... One can see photographers, dressed in sloppy clothes walking up and down the sanctuaries taking photos as if they have a right to be there. Especially during marriage ceremonies and other events.
They should not be allowed in sanctuaries and only allowed photos at designated moments.
If i were a pastor of a Church I would establish rules for this...
