Pelosi Tells Bishops What to Tell Catholics About Immigration

What is the solution since Obama and his Commie friends will not do anything about it??

Will there be an armed revolution with states succeeding or will it be the light in the sky that will destroy 1/3 of the nation first?? What will the chastisement consist of??

While a few countries in Europe and Asia seem to be slowly going in the "right" direction while the USA seems to be heading well to the left at a rapid pace!

I took that for granted as soon as Mr. Obama was the Democratic nominee in the 2008 election. How could an old white guy who's essentially a Bush clone win against a much younger, smooth-speaking, clean-cut cosmopolitan/multiracial dude like Barack? In our mass media-driven world, it's not about the issues, but the image.  See David Cameron, who (in my opinion) was able to bring Britain's Conservative Party out of irrelevance for the past two decades or so simply because he's going to be the youngest prime minister in 200 years. Gordon Brown was an old fogey in comparison.

Anyway, I find it highly unlikely that the Republican Party will be able to raise up someone that can contend against Obama (that is to say, his image, not his actual career) in 2012. He'll knock over all their old white guys like bowling pins. Sarah Palin was an interesting tactic that almost worked, and the media knew it; that's what caused the media to hone in on her and tear her apart. However, the Republicans should have known that her folksy style and weird choice of words wouldn't sell any votes in the blue states.

You know, there's been an idea floating around in my head.  All right, it's a conspiracy theory, but Pelosi's announcement, in a "reverse phsycology" sort of way, is making me think I'm right.

What if the Church can see that the leftist, liberal Dems are making a play for the illegal immigrants (which I know we already believe to be true), and will suck them in to support  Abortion, Euthanasia, all the anti-Catholic things, and by this means put the Church in America into formal schism, or draw them away from the Faith (which is already happening) to non-denominational, happy-clappy, feel-good Protestant groups?  What if the Church, to try to counteract this, is being very vocal about immigration reform, in order to demonstrate to the masses that the Church is their shelter, not the government?  What if that and not really some social justice claptrap, is the reason for the Church's stance?  It makes sense that Pelosi, being the political wolf that she is, would claim that it was she who told the bishops to talk about this.  This way, she can claim that the Dems are the best friend and the shelter for the poor, downtrodden illegal immigrants.

I'm starting to think this is a showdown between the Church and the Dems.

Am I crazy?  What do you all think?

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she has told Catholic cardinals, archbishops and bishops that she wants them to speak from the pulpit for immigration reform and tell Catholics who oppose it that reform “is a manifestation of our living the gospels.”

In her comments at the Catholic Community Conference on Capitol Hill on May 6, Pelosi specifically referenced illegal immigrants in America, saying as a practical matter, “we can’t say to people, 12 million of you, ‘go back to wherever you came from or go to jail.’”

“I would hope that there’s one thing that we can do working together as we go forward that speaks to what the Bible tells us about the dignity and worth of every person -- and that is on the subject of immigration,” Pelosi said in her remarks. “Because I think the Church is going to have to play a very major role in how we, in how people are treated.”

“The cardinals, the archbishops, the bishops that come to me and say, ‘We want you to pass immigration reform,’” disclosed Pelosi. “And I say, ‘But I want you to speak about it from the pulpit.'

“I want you to instruct your, whatever the communication is -- the people, some of them, oppose immigration reform are sitting in those pews and you have to tell them that this is a ‘manifestation of our living the gospels,’” said Pelosi.

“Our patron saint of San Francisco, St. Francis of Assisi, he said, ‘preach the gospel --sometimes use words.’ We need the words to be said because it isn’t being picked up automatically.”

Pelosi, a Catholic and a Trinity College alumnus, said the estimated 12 million people currently living in America illegally cannot be told by society to go back to where they came from or “go to jail.”

“We have to respect that dignity and worth (of the indiciual), and recognize that the Church has an important role to play in that,” she said. “We don’t -- as a practical matter, we can’t say to people, 12 million of you, ‘go back to wherever you came from or go to jail.’”

“We can’t do that,” she said. “But the newcomers to America are really, again, important to the constant re-invigoration of America,  which is part of who we are and have always been unless we’re all Native American -- God Bless them. But most of the people here came from someplace else.”

Nancy, "Native Americans" also "came from someplace else."  They just did it a lot earlier than European settlers did.

And tell me, Nancy, if we must respect the dignity and worth of individuals who are in the country illegally, why don't we respect the dignity and worth of individuals before birth?

How dare you say that the Gospels support charity for immigrants who have broken laws while you also support legalized murder of unborn babies who are innocent of any wrong?   Do you think Jesus will ever excuse what you do?

You're right!  Housing Reform pales in comparison to World of Warcraft... particularly with the upcoming Cataclysm expansion.  LOL
